about

written in 2016 (for YngDrk)

many of the YngDrk songs are supposed to be centered around the theme of "church of sadness" and have a very hymn-like composition. so imagine a very sad person on a pedestal, preaching to a crowd of sadder people. the chorus is the stuff that people sing together and the verses are the solos. that's how i envisioned YngDrk. very church of sadness and i was the main preacher.

this song is about realising that you've driven someone away because of your own... nature of just driving people away with your "aura".

i sent the chorus of this song to my friend before i finished anything else and he liked it and it pushed me to really work my ass off on this song (lyrically because obviously it's very simple in piano. i love this song tons.

fave line: "Haven’t all the tears dried/heaven no they haven’t died/I still want you by my side/I can’t let it lie"

lyrics

Said “how you doin?” what’s the best that you can do/I’ve been thinkin bout it lately what did I do

to drive (3x) you away (4 progs)

is this how it oughta be/miles between you and me/I can’t keep up

sad that you meant more to me/I’m wishing that you never did/anything to keep this love

I think ive been driving for too long/where am I going I don’t know/I think I’ve been running away for far

too long

how many miles did I drive/to take you away from my side/I think I’ve running on my own for far too

long

Haven’t all the tears dried/heaven no they haven’t died/the masterpiece is running right behind my

voice this one I can’t lose

but I’m trying (3x) to keep up

save it for a rainy day/find something else to say/spit it out

maybe this is how it is supposed to be.

Haven’t all the tears dried/heaven no they haven’t died/I still want you by my side/I can’t let it lie
